When & Where?
Summer Sunday school, held in July and August, during the 10 am service, uses the same curriculum as is used during regular Sunday school classes but after the lesson the craft cupboard is open to play with as well as planting, weeding and harvesting in our wonderful church garden!
Sunday school classes are held each Sunday during the 10 am service from September through June. Children begin the service in church with their families and go to class after a ‘children’s chancel’ and music lead by the minister. They join their families and the rest of the congregation for communion.
What do we do?
Sunday school is activity and teaching based, and is framed around the age and stage of those who take part. Stories and traditions of our faith are learned through ritual, song, symbol, story and hands on activity! Classes include preschool (3-6 years), Primary/intermediate (7-11 years) and youth (12 years and up).
Sunday school students also participate in seasonal events such as the Lenten food drive and everybody’s favourite – the Christmas Pageant!
Who are the leaders?
St. Peter’s is very serious about providing a safe church for all. The Leaders are adults who have taken part in the ‘Safe Church Program’ and have had criminal record checks.
