Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning "coming".

Put simply, Advent is the season that leads up to Christmas. It’s a time we use to pray and reflect in anticipation of the coming of our Lord and the start of the Christmas Season.

St. Peter’s will be holding a Vigil from Saturday, December 3 at 11 am to Sunday, December 4 at 11 am. You are invited to participate in this time of quietness and prayer by signing up for one or two hour blocks of time throughout the night. Do not be concerned it you do not have another person to sign up and join you – we will always have someone attending in the Church throughout the vigil. The sign-up sheet can be found in the Narthex.
